for the german agency for international cooperation (giz) interior design for the establishment of office space for three of its projects was developed within two leased spaces of the sayon building at phnom penh’s street 214 - a new building with a blend of elements full of reminiscences of the area’s 1930s art décor architecture and industrial rawness.
single cabins for project leaders arranged lateral to the central open plan office space, so meeting and conference rooms in the north section, were partitioned as a continuum of the existing, classic style painted wood-glass dividers.
all furniture of customized design were locally produced. padded call islands provide space for online meetings for individuals or small groups while simultaneously structuring the open plan office, decorating it and absorbing excessive sound. small tables for two allow for a maximum flexibility for the conference room set up.
