design for a commercial tower near phnom penh's international airport to host chea ry co.,ltd's head office and sales gallery, a convenience store and flexible office space for lease as well as a green roof top terrace for evening events. with elegant modesty stands the structure confidently on national road 3 and speaks of a new era of understated sophistication.

an inner atrium with tropical garden, running over the two top stories with a free shaped  opening to the sky, connects the two head office floors while creating a calming focal point that divides the various departments in a soft manner.

the steel structure with its stabilizing double v-columns bestow a unique emblem to the building. vertical tension bars suspend the expressive floor overhangs which leaves the building “hovering” over ground.

the floor overhangs, partly used as outdoor space for break time, in combination with the wooden roller shutters and greenery, provide weather protection on the outside of the glazing, minimizing heat gain while optimizing natural lighting.

all support services are housed in the adjoined west tower, that stabilizes the steel structure, ensures safe exit over an exposed, sculptural spiral stair and shields the office tract from the scorching afternoon sun.

the metal deck - concrete composite floor structure brings desired thermal mass for a balanced room climate and reduces sound transmission. the raised floors and light room partitions guarantee flexible arrangement of the space and wiring for decades to come without noise emissions to other tenants during rearrangements.
